After a childhood of musical theater and living abroad, Alyse began her career busking on the streets of Pike Place Market in Seattle. One rare
sunny afternoon, the pianist for a local group wandered by, stood captivated for a moment, and then explained: he needed another singer for a show that night
at a local club. There was no looking back. Alyse isn't busking any more. Between playing some of the best stages in cities across the US, she's completed
three solo studio albums, received international awards for songwriting, and garnered impressive reviews for both her studio and live work.

him from coast to coast. However, in the summer of 2009 Andrew turned back to his first love of painting and illustration as his full pursuit. So whether it

forces of nature, she was a contemplative observer. Thus began a life time of visual expression based on what was whispered, listening for the subtle yet
powerful. She has exhibited exstensively in Austin Texas. On the international front, she was a part of a touring exhibition of Neo Symbolist through Eastern
Europe. Her style is an evolution of traditional and digital techniques. This provides a rich palette of options for images that incarnate depending on what

On today's show singer and song writer Betty Soo talks with host E. Mickey Peavler. Her first studio efforts (Let Me Love You, 2005; Little Tiny
Secrets, 2007, Never the Pretty Girl EP, 2007) were well received by critics, earning praise locally and nationally - even securing her performance opportunities
overseas. And she’s not slowing down any time soon. Since their release, she has earned multiple songwriting awards (including Kerrville New Folk, Wildflower
Festival, and Big Top Chautauqua Songwriter of the Year) and has proven herself a strong, engaging, often hilarious live performer.

Loves It! formed when two best friends, Vaughn Walters and Jenny Parrott, dreamed of traveling the world together singing songs! Both accomplished
solo writers, they were surprised and excited to see their collaborative works sparkle! Besides inventive songwriting that travels between folk, country, indie
pop and swing, each is a multi-instrumentalist and the live show features claw hammer banjo, ...guitars, mandolin, fiddle, and heart felt inspired singing.
Vaughn hails from West by God Virginia and brings his love of country, punk rock, and folk to the duo's sound. Jenny Parrott is from New Haven CT and brings a
love of soul, swing and gospel. With songs and musical ideas formed by their experiences traveling with other musicians (Shotgun Party, Leo Rondeau), these
veterans of the road have come together to create a unique sound that is fun, modern and you will totes LOVES IT!

Vanessa Lively, musician, artist and graphic designer is our guest on today's show. For a woman who thrives on jumping into the unknown with both feet,
Vanessa Lively took an unusual approach to her new album, Uncovering Stones. She and her producer-husband, Jason, planned nearly every note before recording it –
which they did in their Austin home, with co-producer/engineer Keith Gary. The result is a compelling mix of tempos and styles filled with hints of urban, world, L
atin, funk and pop that fully captures her compassionate nature and love of community. Uncovering Stones is, in fact, all about connecting.
Vanessa even painted the album art beforehand – on 42 canvas squares she sold individually to fund the 12-song disc. Lively describes its themes as
“feeling other people’s struggles and joys and being connected with them.” After raking blueberries in Maine as a migrant farm worker and living in
South America with her husband to do volunteer work in impoverished areas, she feels those connections deeply – and when you listen, you will, too. Find out more and buy some music at www.vanessalively.com

Anna Mae Mitchell G. Pat Harris first performed together throughout Michigan in a traditional bluegrass band for years before relocating to different
parts of the country. In July 2009, they started performing again and collaborating on material that branches out from traditional
bluegrass into a broad Americana sound which includes elements of folk, rock, and jazz, and has a range of lyrical content with influences from Goethe to Bob Dylan.
In this new venture, they are performing original music in independently produced intimate shows across the country.
